  • My Beloved…

Bittersweet symphony

The two mommies-to-be with our tummies.

Thanks, janis and all you guys for the wonderful gift!

Two of my students, Ainni and Shakina. Will miss you guys!

The wonderful crazy kids of 4H. One pic of us smiling, and another one of us pretending to cry.

Never thought it would be so hard, but it was. Yesterday was my last day in Fuhua and tears have been shed. All the wonderful people around me, for 5 years now…it certainly takes a lot of control for me not to burst into tears. So many people came up to me to bid me farewell, and wish me well for my studies and baby. Students too came to see me, to say goodbye to me and take pics. I reassured them that i will see them again, and invited them over to my house this hari raya, by which time ooyah will be out.

As i was ‘attempting’ to clean up my table, i was given a pleasant surprise- right before my eyes, Vijaya appeared! She came bearing gifts for me, flowers and sushi! It was so sweet of her to do that! We chatted for a bit, and soon enough everyone was crowding around her to hear her tai-tai adventures, her breathing therapy, her travels to Europe and basically, how WONDERFUL life is after leaving service hahaha. She was the envy of the lot!

I was also presented with a gift from my friends…something i have been meaning to buy but not quite sure about whether it will work on me- a set of bird’s nest from Lo Hong Ka which i have been eyeing! Thank you, guys, I really appreciate it! (ramli has shamelessly offered to help me finish it in case i don’t by the time ooyah is born). I have planned to eat 1 bottle this week (week 35), 1 bottle next week (week 36) and maybe save one bottle for post-delivery. Then maybe i’ll get some more! :)

When i was finally ready to leave (right after practically throwing my things into a box and trash bags to lug back), Angelina drove us back to her place for her to change into hang-out clothes. Vijaya sadly couldn’t come along as she has some errands to run. Well it turned out to be a good thing that she didn’t come along because we ended up slobbing at angelina’s place, drinking gourmet nescafe which tasted…different, snacking on meiji plain biscuits and oh, not to forget, savouring a dessert of banana. Hahahah.

Next hangout venue- cafe Fadelinah- we got to my place at about 7pm, this time we had gourmet instant pizza, snacks of ruffles sour cream and onion chips and lipton tea. Hahahha. Guess what time we hung out till? 11.30 pm! It was, by far, our LONGEST hangout! And prolly the most comfy hangout cos we could lie down, i could let my stomach ‘hang loose’ and angelina could clear her bowels as often as she wanted. Ramli came back at around 11, from his hangout with his friends, so it worked out fine. All in all, i was a good day indeed. Sad, because of the goodbyes, yet happy, because something new lies ahead of me herein forward. Once again, thank you, my dear friends…
